Freedom Salute Welcomes Home Guard Troops

KINGSTON, N.Y. - New York Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Michael Swezey, at left, Commander of the New York Army National Guard's 53rd Troop Command, presents Army Commendation Medals to Spc. Michael Taylor and Spc. Kristen Walker of the 104th Military Police Battalion Headquarters at their Kingston armory on Sunday June 22. The Soldiers, their families, and Kingston-area community gathered for the unit's formal welcome-home Freedom Salute Ceremony to honor the troops for their successful overseas deployment to Iraq from June 2007 until March of 2008.
