NEW YORK- CH-47 Chinook helicopters assigned to the New York Army National Guard's Detachment 1 Company B 3rd Battalion 126th Aviation regiment circle New York City during a training flight on Tuesday, April 1. The aviators, who are based in Rochester, were flying in the New York City area to familiarize themselves with the airspace traffic patterns there in case they needed to respond during an emergency. During the New York National Guard's response to Superstorm Sandy in 2012 CH-47s were used to airlift in supplies. (Courtesy 3-126th Aviation.)
