To whom awarded: Awarded to members of the New York State Organized Militia who served on federal active duty in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm only from August 1990 until completion of operation.

How awarded: Medal has been and will continue to be administratively issued by this agency (MNHS-AD). Documentation, such as a copy of orders or a copy of DA Form 2-1, is required to support the request.
