Brookhaven Nike Base

Brookhaven Nike Base (NY-25), 1957-71, Suffolk County, Brookhaven, Rocky Point. Launcher Area for 30 Nike-Ajax Missiles, later replaced with 18 Nike-Hercules Missiles. Between Wading River Manor Road and NY Route 46, North of NY Route 25A. Now Rocky Point USAR Center, Launch area and pits reported intact. IFC area was Rocky Point. Inactivated 1971.
