Fort of the Eries Fort of the Eries, Predates 1653, Erie County, South Buffalo. Identified as being on the South side of Buffalo Creek. Described as an earthwork fort, probably including a circular palisade. Fort may have been the site of the last battle in 1653, between the Eries and the Senecas, where the Eries were defeated and annihilated.
