Numbered Forts in West Point: FORTS/REDOUBTS NUMBERS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7, 1778-79. Shown on 1781 French map of West Point by Rochambeau's cartographers and on 1780 map by Major Villefranche. Probably from April 1778 plans by Col Kosziusko. Forts 1 through 4 were West of Fort Putnam and Forts 5 through 7 were on Constitution Island. Fort 7 was reconstruction of Fort Constitution. Redoubts 1 and 2 are just off Route 9W at West end of Highland Falls.
