1st Artillery, Battery A Guidon

The NYS Battle Flag Collection includes one flag carried by Battery A, 1st Artillery (Light), NY Volunteers, a silk swallowtail guidon in the “stars and stripes” pattern prescribed in General Order No. 4, dated January 18, 1862. The flag includes a painted inscription in the 34 star canton and painted inscriptions next to, and below, the canton. All the inscriptions are painted in gold with black lowlights and cream highlights. (2004.0076)
