1st Artillery, Battery M Guidon

The NYS Battle Flag Collection includes one flag carried by Battery M, 1st Artillery (Light), NY Volunteers, a silk swallowtail guidon in the “stars and stripes” pattern prescribed in General Order No. 4, dated January 18, 1862. The flag includes 34 painted stars in the canton from a 35 star pattern – one star is missing from the upper fly corner. Flag dimensions are: 26” hoist X 41 1/2” fly. (2004.0077)
