Silk general guide flags in a US National pattern with 34 embroidered stars, block numbers and script state affiliation. Known as the “Orange Blossoms” in honor of Orange County, the 124th Regiment was mustered into service in September 1862 with the 71st Regiment, State Militia as its nucleus. A month before, Miss Charlotte Coulter, representing the citizenry of Wawayanda, presented these silk general guide flags to the regiment at a formal ceremony in Goshen.
