In July 1864 the Albany Burgess Corps (Co R, 25th Regiment, NY National Guard) presented these blue silk flank markers to the 43rd Regiment. Each flag features an appliquéd white Greek Cross, symbol of the 2nd Division, 6th Army Corps, with red embroidered “43” in the center.
