The NYS Battle Flag Collection includes two flank markers carried by the 58th Regiment NY Volunteer Infantry. Both flags have losses, one more so than the other. The extant inscriptions are painted in gold, shadowed in red. Portions of the regiment’s numeric designation, in gold paint, appears in a red painted oval shield edged with a gold painted border in the center of one of the flags.
