These triangular-shaped, wool designating flags with appliquéd blue wool VI Corps badges generally adheres to General Orders No 53, dated May 12, 1863. The flag on the left includes a piece of cotton at the tip, added at an unknown date, to compensate for losses. Brigade commanders included, among others, Brigadier General Alexander Shaler from June-December 1863.
