THE MILITIA YEARS (1784-1859)
New York Militia and Regulars cross the Niagara River to assault Queenston Heights,
13 October 1812. The refusal of some militia to cross into Canada, "on
Constitutional grounds," at a critical point in the battle helps seal
the American defeat.
