16th Regiment History This regiment, not now in existence, but then located in Suffolk county, saw service in Brooklyn during the Draft riots in 1863. In 1864 five companies of the regiment organized as four, served with, and as part of, the 15th Militia in New York harbor. Col. Alfred Wagstaff of this regiment served as Lieutenant-Colonel of the 15th Regiment during that time.
