Civil War
History
The following is taken from New York in the War of the Rebellion, 3rd ed.
Frederick Phisterer. Albany: J. B. Lyon Company, 1912.
This regiment, not now in existence, but then located in Suffolk county, saw
service in Brooklyn during the Draft riots in 1863. In 1864 five companies
of the regiment organized as four, served with, and as part of, the 15th Militia
in New York harbor. Col. Alfred Wagstaff of this regiment served as Lieutenant-Colonel
of the 15th Regiment during that time.
