James C. Strong was 36 when he enrolled on January 11, 1862 at Alexandria, Va,
to serve two years. He mustered in as a Lieutenant-Colonel on January 18, 1862.
Strong was wounded in action on May 5, 1862 at Williamsburgh, Va. He mustered
in as a Colonel on November 16, 1862 and mustered out with the regiment on June
22, 1863 at East New York.
