1st Lieut. James L. Mackey Back to 63rd Regiment During the Civil War
James E. Mackey: Age, 23 years. Enrolled February 27th, 1862 at Washington D.C. Mustered into Company B as a first lieutenant February 27th, 1862 for a three-year tour of duty. Discharged March 10th, 1862 and mustered in again as a first lieutenant March 25th, 1862. Wounded in action September 17th, 1862 at Antietam, MD and died of his wounds October 13th, 1862 at Buffalo. Prior service in Company E 21st Infantry. Back to 63rd Regiment During the Civil War
