on 5/16/1861 at Newburgh, NY as a Sergeant. On 6/17/1861 he mustered into "B" Co.
NY 36th Infantry.
Promtoed to First Sergeant, Ocotober 1, 1861. Mustered in as second lieutenant,
November 12, 1861; as first lieutenant, Co. A, August 20, 1862. He
