The following is taken from New York in the War of the Rebellion, 3rd ed.

Quite a portion of this regiment, which is not now in existence, entered the
United States service as volunteers and members of the 5th
Artillery.
In 1863 the regiment saw service in Brooklyn during the Draft riots.
