Corp. Henry Lake Back to 76th Regiment During the Civil War
Henry Lake: Age, 19 years. Enlisted October 19th, 1861 at Cherry Valley. Mustered into Company H as a private October 19th, 1861 for a three-year tour of duty. Captured in action August 29th, 1862 at Bull Run Va. and paroled at an unknown date. Promoted to corporal at an unknown date and wounded in action July 1st, 1863 at Gettysburg, PA. Re-enlisted as a veteran January 25th, 1864. Wounded in action May 5th, 1864 at the Wilderness Va. Wounded in action June 1st, 1864 at Old Church Va. and captured in action October 1st, 1864 at Poplar Grove Church Va. Paroled at an unknown date and discharged July 31st, 1865.
