The Army Band was a 28 man unit.
When released from Active Federal Service by the DOD to HQ NYNG then at 270
Bway NYC. An administrator was assigned to round the members up and regroup
at the Madison Ave & 94th Street Armory , then home of the Hq&Hq Det
(less sep det) and the NYC residence of The Chief of Staff to the Gov.Then
MG Karl F. Hausauer. The Bandmaster was cwo John Price The band participated
in many NYC public functions including The April in Paris Ball at the Waldorf
Astoria.
