Citizen Soldiers celebrate return to N.Y. Army National Guard following year in Iraq

Congresswomen Kirsten Gillibrand, State Senator Elizabeth Little, community and National Guard senior leaders were on hand to recognize the 70 National Guard Citizen-Soldiers and their families from the 466th for their service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The unit returned home from Iraq in October 2007, after operating four separate medical treatment facilities across Iraq. During their year-long deployment, unit personnel completed more than 30,000 medical visits, ranging in patient care from minor aches, pains and illnesses to extremely serious battlefield injuries and trauma.
