ITHACA - New York Army National Guard Cpl. Timothy Bishop, of Company D 2nd Battalion 108th Infantry, instructs Reserve Officer Training Corps ( ROTC) Cadets in building clearing procedures Saturday, April 4, at the New York State Armory.
The three day ROTC training event included Cadets from Cornell University, Syracuse University and the Rochester Institute of Technology and was hosted by the New York Army National Guard and the Ithaca Armory.
The Cadets got instruction in basic tactics, talked to veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, and learned the benefits of enrolling in the Simultaneous Membership Program, that allows ROTC cadets to serve in the National Guard while they are enrolled in college.
