OTOMO BARRACKS, Japan -- Soldiers of the New York Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry Regiment, exchange salutes while greeting Soldiers of Japan?s 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Division, Middle Army, Joint Ground Self-Defense Force during the opening ceremonies for Exercise Orient Shield, Oct. 9.
The New York Soldiers will train with their Japanese counterparts for three weeks.
