HANCOCK FIELD AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Syracuse-- Col. Kevin Bradley, commander of the New York Air National Guard's 174th Fighter Wing Commander taxi's past Airmen, their friends and family members as 174th F-16s take off from the base for the last time on Saturday, March 6.
Bradley's F-16, and another plane, left the base during a ceremony marking the end of a 63-year old tradition of manned fighters at the 174th, and then landed at Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield at Fort Drum after touring the state. The planes will be flown to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base from there.
The 174th Fighter Wing now operates the remotely piloted MQ-9 Reaper.
