Top South African General Visits New York

LATHAM, NY-- Col. Dave Martinez (left) Director of Joint Operations; Brig. Gen. Renwick Payne, Director of Joint Staff for the New York National Guard; and Gen. Godfrey Ngwenya, Chief of the South African Defence Force; are briefed on New York National Guard capabilities and organization during Ngwenya's visit the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs headquarters on Monday, May 17.
Ngwenya is in the United States for a week visiting American military leaders and facilities.
South Africa is paired with New York as part of the National Guard's State Partnership Program in which state National Guards develop bilateral relationships with developing nation's militaries.
