Olympic Gold Medalist Joins New York Army National Guard
Lt.Col Steve Rowe Administers the Oath of Enlistment to Olympic Bobsledder Justin Olsen

LATHAM-- Bobsledder Justin Olsen, who won a Gold Medal at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics as a member of a four-man bobsled team, takes the oath of enlistment into the New York Army National Guard at Division of Military and Naval Affairs headquarters here on Thursday, January 6. Lt. Col. Steve Rowe, Commander of the New York Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Command administered the oath.
Olsen will serve as a human resources specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment of Joint Forces Headquarters--New York. Following Basic and Advanced Individual Training he plans to apply to participate in the Army World Class Athlete Program which allows Soldiers to train and compete in the Olympics while serving.
