NEW YORK-- New York Army National Guard Soldiers Staff Sgt. Donald Leinfelder (left) Sergeant Timothy Gould (Center) and SPC Ismael E. Diaz (right) stand with Navy Engineman Second Class Timothy Carlton and Marine First Lieutenant Matthew A. Krempel during a recognition ceremony at Citi Field during the Mets home game against Pittsburgh on Memorial Day. The servicemembers were honored during the game’s Seventh Inning Stretch. Leinfelder received a Purple Heart when he was injured in combat in Iraq; Gould holds the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster due to injuries he sustained fighting in Afghanistan; and Diaz was awarded the Army Commendation Medal with V device for leading Afghan National Army Soldiers in a counterattack during an ambush.
