LATHAM- Civil War re-enactor Howard Young, from Rotterdam, and Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Weidlich, a member of the New York Army National Guard’s 206th Military Police Company discuss combat gear from era’s 150 years apart during a media event conducted at Division of Military and Naval Affairs Headquarters on July 20. The event, held to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Bull Run, compared and contrasted the equipment worn and used by New York Soldiers then with New York Soldiers now.
