STEWART AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Newburgh-- Soldiers of the New York Army National Guard’s 101st Expeditionary Signal Battalion board a charter plan heading for Fort Bliss, Texas, following their mobilization ceremony here on Sunday, August 19. The Soldiers bid farewell to their families and heard from Major General Patrick Murphy, the Adjutant General, and other speakers--including Governor Andrew Cuomo’s representative Ms. Maryu Kaveny-- before boarding the aircraft. The battalion will deploy to Afghanistan later this month.
