JTFES LogoJoint Task Force Empire Shield (JTF-ES)

Joint Task Force Empire Shield’s (JTF-ES) primary goal is to deter and prevent potential terrorist operations in the New York City Metropolitan Area. Security operations are implemented daily through pre-planned programs using a random and strategic methodology. Joint Task Force Empire Shield is designed to respond to a wide range of incident types.  The Task Force prepares for manmade or natural disasters by training alongside and working with civilian authorities and agency partners.

 


Office of Budget and Finance (MNBF) State Active Duty J8 Team

The NYS Division of Military Affairs Office of Budget and Finance/J8 is looking to receive applications to form a six member J8 State Active-Duty Administrative Team who would exemplify strong morals and judgment, have leadership qualities, and are fit for duty. Chosen applicants will be responsible for a wide array of responsibilities and duties that include but are not limited to:

  • The area of SAD emergency procurement and purchasing
  • Financial managementR
  • Record keeping
  • Reporting
  • Reconciliation
  • Review/auditing
  • SAD policy and procurement training

Primary duty station will be DMNA Headquarters, Latham NY.

NYS Citizen Preparedness Corps (CPC)

New York State Citizen Preparedness training, initially launched by Governor Andrew Cuomo gives residents have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. Citizen Preparedness training began in February 2014 across New York. Trainings are led by the New York National Guard and The American Red Cross working with experts from the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, Office of Emergency Management, and Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Cyber Support to DHSES (CSD)

The CSD is a pilot program between DMNA and the DHSES Office of Counter Terrorism's Critical Infrastructure Unit. The team enhances the DHSES Cybersecurity capabilities and assessments by developing a Cybersecurity Assessment Program that includes vulnerability assessments that will be offered to State, local, public, and private entities of New York State.


How to apply for Standing SAD:

1. Download the Standing SAD application checklist from the forms section below - The checklist outlines what is required to be in your application packet. The SAD application and Commanders recommendation letter are also attached in the forms section below.

2. Download the announcement you are interested in applying for. Follow the specific position application instructions. This will outline where to send your application packet

3. As of 12 October 2021, Service Members must show proof of Covid 19 vaccination in order to be assigned to a SAD mission. Service Members will not start on a SAD mission until they are fully vaccinated (2 weeks after last shot).

Applicants will receive a response acknowledging receipt of an application packet.
