ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION
The NEW YORK GUARD ASSOCIATION, INC. ("NYGA") is the sole organization devised to support the interests of all enlisted, warrant, and commissioned members of the New York Guard; active, inactive, and retired alike. It can trace its origins to when the "modern" New York Guard was formed during the years 1917-1918 when America was involved in World War I overseas and on acqueduct security duty in upstate New York; the present organization was created in 1987. The NYGA is chartered by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. It receives membership dues as well as income from the sale of uniforms and uniform accessories (such as medals and patches), and uses all such income to do the following for its members:
funds entirely all meals for weekend training at WET sites as well as home station armories,
funds the entire New York Guard awards and decorations program, providing for the creation, production, and distribution of all manner of badges, medals, patches, and ribbons,
subsidizes the acquisition of duty uniforms and headgear for all junior ranks of enlisted members.
Dues for all prospective members are set at Twenty ($20.00) Dollars per annum. Options for Life Membership is also available as follows:
