WHAT: A farewell ceremony before they leave for post-mobilization training at Joint Base McGuire, Dix, Lakehurst in New Jersey and then deployment to Afghanistan.

The 4th Finance Detachment is part of the New York Army National Guard's 27th Finance Company which, while deployed, provides financial support, disbursing operations, commercial vendor services, military pay, travel, and internal control to assigned personnel.
The unit last deployed in 2008-09 to Bagram, Afghanistan. The unit provided Soldier financial services and dispersed more than $20 million in funds for Civil Affairs units working with Afghan communities to provide payrolls for community projects. The finance Soldiers returned from their ten-month deployment in January 2009.
