Manhattan Resident Lt. Col. Emilio Pennes retires from New York Army National Guard

LATHAM, NY (11/10/2015)(readMedia)-- New York Army National Guard Lt. Col. Emilio Pennes, a Manhattan resident, has retired from the military after 30 years of service.

Pennes, a veteran of the Iraq War who works as a benefits advisor for the U.S. Department of Labor, most recently served as the Counterdrug Liaison Officer for the New York National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters Domestic Operations Section. Prior to that he served as Chief of Psychological Operations for the 42nd Infantry Division in Troy, NY.

Pennes who began his career as an Army Officer as an Air Defense Artillery Officer, holds a Masters of Public Administration degree from John Jay College.

His military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, The Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

He is a graduate of the Army Command and Staff College and the Military Intelligence Officer Advanced Course.
