NY Army National Guard battalion gets new commander at Camp Smith today Sunday, Oct. 22

CORTLANDT MANOR (10/22/2017) (readMedia)-- Maj. Todd Balog, an Afghanistan War veteran and Saratoga Springs resident, will take command of the New York Army National Guard's 369th Special Troops Battalion on Sunday, Oct. 22. He replaces Lt. Col. Seth Morgulus, who has led the battalion since 2013.

The 369th Special Troops Battalion is part of the 369th Sustainment Brigade which has elements across New York City and the Hudson Valley.

Members of the press are invited to attend the ceremony.

WHO: Maj. Todd Balog, the incoming commander; Lt. Col. Seth Morgulas, the outgoing commander, and the men and women of the 369th Special Troops Battalion.

WHAT: Traditional change-of-command ceremony in which Lt. Col. Morgulas will hand the battalion flag, commonly called the colors, to Maj. Balog to mark the transition from one commander to another.

WHEN: 1 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017

WHERE: Camp Smith Training Site Parade Field, 100 Camp Smith Drive, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. 10567

Coverage Opportunities:

Interviews with the incoming and outgoing commanders about the missions of the battalion and its role in supporting troops in combat. Visual opportunities will include the passing of the battalion colors and imagery of the troops in massed formation.
