MANAS, Kyrgyzstan-- New York Air National Guard Tech. Sgt. Michal Pietkiewicz, a member of the 105th Airlift Wing, and a child rest after playing at the Belovodosky Orphanage during a Manas Area Benefit Outreach Society visit on Nov. 28, 2011. Pietkiewicz is a member of MABOS, which is a private, nonprofit volunteer organization that works with local charities to support the greater Bishkek area and communities near the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan. Pietkiewicz is a 376th Logistic Readiness Squadron vehicle maintenance supervisor deployed from Stewart Air National Guard Base, N.Y.

LATHAM - Chief Warrant Officer Aaron Teichner, an OH-58 pilot with Detachment 1, Company A, 1-224th Aviation Service and Support Battalion and a full-time technician at Army Aviation Support Facility 3 in Latham gets promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 4 on Feb. 27. The ceremony was attended by the Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Patrick Murphy and Teichners mother, Joan Teichner, who did the pinning.

John Klimes during a commissioning ceremony here Jan. 19. Pauquette, from Granville, N.Y., recently graduated from the National Guard Accelerated Officer Candidate School. She was previously assigned as a sergeant in the 1427th Transportation Company in Queensbury and will remain in the same company, serving now as an officer in charge of Soldiers. Troops Help Students Stay on Track

COHOES, N.Y. - New York Air National Guard Master Sgt. Marlene C. Frankovic, a Stay on Track instructor with the New York National Guard Counterdrug Task Force, speaks to a classroom of children at Cohoes Middle School here Jan. 18. Frankovic, who has worked with the Counterdrug Task Force since 1996, told students various ways to say "no" to drug dealers. The Counterdrug Task Force reached more than 8,000 middle school students (grades 6,7 and 8) in 100 different schools in 2011 as part of its Drug Demand Reduction efforts.
