ANTUCO, CHILE- New York Army National Guard Spc. Rosa Ibarra a mass communications specialist with 138th Public Affairs crosses a two-rope bridge under the supervision of Chilean army mountain instructors during Exercise Southern Vanguard 25 in Antuco Chile Aug. 16 2025. Exercise Southern Vanguard 25 underscores the U.S. Armys enduring commitment to regional partnership as U.S. forces deploy to Chile to conduct combined mountain warfare field and command post training alongside Chilean forces with participation from Argentina and Peru - strengthening interoperability shared readiness and mutual trust while advancing regional security and cooperation across the Western Hemisphere. Members of the 138th covered the participation of 10th Mountain Division troops in the exercise.

CAMP SMITH-- New York Army National Guard Capt. Danielle Dias the new commander of the 138th Public Affairs Detachment receives the guidon from Col. Steven Perry deputy commanding officer of the 53rd Troop Command the presiding officer over the ceremony held on May 18, 2025 at Camp Smith Training Site. Dias took command of the detachment from Capt. Stephanie Fernandez. The commander of troops was Sgt. 1st Class Jonathan Pietrantoni outgoing detachment sergeant.

CAMP SMITH--Members of the New York Army National Guard Premobilization Training Assistance Team demonstrate the proper method for evacuating a casualty from the battlefield during the lifesaving measures during pre-mobilization training taking place at Camp Smith Training Area, Cortlandt Manor, NY, May 6-15, 2012.
