144th Regiment, NY Volunteer Infantry Guidons, Civil War

144th Infantry Guidon (2005.0004)

144th Infantry Guidon (2005.0005)

The NYS Battle Flag Collection includes two guidons carried by the 144th Regiment New York Volunteer Infantry. Each silk, swallowtail guidon conforms to the “stars and stripes” pattern prescribed in General Order No. 4, dated January 18, 1862. Both guidons have losses, most notably to the canton and fly.

See the 144th Infantry Regiment History Page for more information about the unit.
