19 years old upon enlistment.
Enlisted on 10/19/1861 at Auburn, NY as a Corporal.
On 11/23/1861 he mustered into NY 1st Light Artillery
Promoted to Sergt on 3/24/1863
He Re-enlisted on 12/22/1863
Wounded at Middletown, VA on 10-19-1864
He was discharged for disability on 8/5/1865
