18 years old upon enlistment.
Enlisted on 9/11/1862 at Oswego, NY as a Private.
On 12/12/1862 he mustered into NY 21st Light Artillery
Listed as POW on 2/28/1864 at Port Hudson (Captured while outside picket line)
Exchanged 1/15/1865
He was Mustered Out on 9/8/1865 at Syracuse, NY
