Cpt. Charles J. Sands
21 years old upon enlistment.
Enlisted on 2/1/1862 at New York City, NY as a 2nd Lieutenant.
On 2/20/1862 he was commissioned into "E" Co. NY Marine Light Artillery
On 9/16/1862 he was transferred from company E to company C
He was promoted to 1st Lieut on 9/17/1862
He Resigned on 3/31/1863 at New Berne, NC
Enlisted in the NY 13th Heavy Artillery on 8/29/1863 as a 1st Lieutenant.
On 8/29/1863 he was commissioned into "B" Co. NY 13th Heavy Artillery
On 3/16/1864 he was transferred from from company B to company G
He was promoted to Capt on 3/16/1864
On 7/18/1865 he transferred into "C" Co. NY 6th Heavy Artillery
He was Mustered Out on 8/24/1865 at Washington, DC
