GARDEN CITY-- Members of the New York Guard commo team assemble and work together to cordon off an area, unpack radio equipment and establish three operational field communications stations just as they would had there been a major emergency at the United States Marine Corps training Center in Garden City on June 21, 2018. The three field stations were powered by batteries and solar panels to simulate operations during a loss of power which might affect normal communications methods. The radio operators successfully provided SITREPs to other field communications stations across New York State.

Personal Identifying Information (PII) or Protected Health Information (PHI) should be transmitted only by encrypted email or through the U.S. Postal Service. The NYS Division of Military and Naval Affairs and the NY Guard are not responsible for pre-delivery loss, disclosure or compromise of PII sent by unencrypted email, non-secure media, or document delivery services other than the U.S Postal Service.
