27TH BRIGADE TO HOST VETERANS ASSOCIATION
Saturday Morning Memorial Service will unite WWII Vets with Serving Members

Memorial Service and Armory visit with Veterans of the 27th Division Association

Front Lawn, State Armory, Thompson Road, Syracuse (Note: Access through the Hancock Field Air National Guard Base Security Gate on Molloy Road.)
The Headquarters 27th Brigade Combat Team will host the 27th Division Association for a Memorial Service at the front of the Thompson Road Armory Saturday morning during the unit’s scheduled weekend drill. The 27th Division Association is comprised of veterans of the World War II 27th Infantry Division (the New York Division) and retired and serving members of the New York Army National Guard’s 27th Brigade. The Veterans Association is holding its Annual Reunion this weekend in Syracuse and a dinner is planned at the Holiday Inn Saturday night. Interested news organizations are welcome to attend to cover the event and obtain interviews with veterans and serving members of the 27th Brigade Combat Team who are scheduled for deployment to Afghanistan in mid 2008. Attending news media representatives are asked to call the State Public Affairs Office by noon on Friday or LTC Fanning on his cell phone by 5 p.m. Friday so that arrangements can be made to clear them through the Hancock Field Air National Guard Base security gate off Molloy Road. Names of participating news media representatives are required and IDs will be checked at the gate.
