Stone Ridge National Guardsman To Command Kingston Mp Battalion

A Stone Ridge Resident and Army National Guard Officer, Major David Gagnon, has been picked to command the 104th Military Police Battalion, based in Kingston. Gagnon, who joined the National Guard in 1986 and was commissioned as an officer in 1989, is currently the executive officer of the battalion. He served in Iraq in 2007 as a member of the 104th Military Police Battalion. The 104th MP Battalion deployed to Iraq in 2007 where the unit was responsible for providing base defense for Camp Bucca, an Army detention facility in southern Iraq. Gagnon, who will take command in the fall, was selected by a Command Selection Board of New York Army National Guard General Officers.
