Auburn Contractor Paul F. Vitale Inc. Awarded $242,000 contract

AUBURN, NY (03/05/2010)-- Local contractor Paul F. Vitale Inc. has been awarded a $242,000 contract to resurface the parking lot at the New York State Armory here by the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs. The contract calls for refurbishing the lot, which is used to park military vehicles, by the end of May. The existing gravel lot adjacent to the Field Maintenance Shop at the armory, and the gravel fire access road are deteriorating. A paved lot will hold up better, especially in the winter time. Work is expected to begin by early April. The federal government is paying for 75 percent of the project with the state picking up the other costs. The Armory, located at 174 South Street, Auburn is the home of the New York Army National Guard's 102nd Military Police Battalion and 222nd Military Police Company
