Manhattan-based Soldiers Return From Iraq
37th Finance Detachment Served 10 Months in Combat Zone
JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX- LAKEHURST, NJ (07/19/2010)-- Twenty Six New York Army National Guard Soldiers who are normally based at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City are back in the United States after almost 10 months in Iraq.
The Soldiers of the 37th Finance Detachment arrived at Joint Base McGuire-Dix- Lakehurst on July 19. The Soldiers were stationed at Forward Operating Base Spiecher near Tikret, Iraq.
They were responsible for paying Soldiers and handling finance accounts for reconstruction projects.
The Soldiers will out process at the base before returning to their home station in three to four days.
