New York National Guard At Franklin County Fair

MALONE NY (08/04/2010)-- Visitors to the Franklin County Fair from Thursday August 12 to Sunday August 15 will be able to test their skills at rock climbing if they stop by the New York Army National Guard recruiting station at the fairgrounds. A climbing wall will be set up at the station, which is on the infield of the fairgrounds near the grandstand.
Reporters looking for a different kind of story at the Franklin County Fair are invited to stop by to try their hand at the climbing wall and learn more about the Army National Guard.
WHO: New York Army National Guard Recruiters.
WHAT: Army National Guard recruiting display at the Franklin County Fair. The recruiters will be on hand throughout the fair. The climbing wall will be available during the fair's last four days.
WHEN: Daily from 10 a.m. until closing August 7-15. The climbing wall will be on hand August 12-15.
WHERE: At the infield near the grandstand at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, 606 East Main St. , Malone.

Background:
The New York Army National Guard, with a membership of about 10,500 Soldiers, is currently at 100 percent strength. National Guard Recruiters, though, are continually seeking new Soldiers to fill job and education opportunities available in units across the state.
Throughout the summer months New York Army National Guard recruiters will be manning booths at country fairs to let the public and potential Soldiers know more about the force.
