New York Army National Guard At Altamont Fair

ALTAMONT, NY (08/17/2010)-- Visitors to the Altamont Fair will be able to test their skills at kicking a soccer ball and throwing a baseball if they stop by the New York Army National Guard recruiting station at the fairgrounds. Members of the media looking for a different kind of fiar story are invited to stop by and try their hand at the skill games and talk to members of the Army National Guard about their role as Citizen Soldiers
WHO: New York Army National Guard Recruiters
WHAT: Army National Guard recruiting display at the Altamont Fair. The recruiters will be on hand throughout the fair. visitors will be able to test their skill with a soccer kick game and a baseball toss game and win prizes.
WHEN: Now through Sunday, August 22 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
WHERE: Near the "Monster Tent " at the Altamont Fair Grounds, Altamont, NY

Background:
The New York Army National Guard, with a membership of about 10,500 Soldiers, is currently at 100 percent strength. National Guard Recruiters, though, are continually seeking new Soldiers to fill job education opportunities available in units across the state.
Throughout the summer months New York Army National Guard recruiters will be manning booths at county fairs to let the public and potential Soldiers know more about the force.
