THE NEW YORK STATE MUSEUM, ALBANY (10/12/2010)(readMedia)-- Veteran New York National Guard members will welcome and thank a visiting member of the Bangor Maine Airport Troop Greeters on Thursday evening October 14 at the New York State Museum. WHO: Members of the New York Army National Guard from the greater Capital District and beyond who have deployed to either Iraq or Afghanistan and who traveled through Bangor Maine Airport and were greeted by the Bangor Maine Airport Troop Greeters.. WHAT: A reception line to welcome and thank Bangor Maine Airport Troop Greeter Joan Gaudet prior to the public screening of "The Way We Get By." WHEN: Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 6:30 pm. WHERE: Huxley Theater, NYS Museum, Empire State Plaza, Albany. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The troops will form a reception line and greet Joan Gaudet as she enters the Huxley Theater. Joan is also a grandmother of Maine National Guard troops and has greeted more than a million service members traveling through the Bangor Airport since 2003 as a member of the Bangor Airport’s famous "Troop Greeters." The special welcome will come just before the public screening of the award-winning film "The Way We Get By," which features Joan and other members of the Bangor Airport Troop Greeters. Guard members will be available for interviews prior to the screening. Video and digital still photos showing local troops being greeted at the Bangor Airport in 2008 are also available on request.
