World War II POW to take part in film discussion at New York State Military Museum

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (04/06/2012)(readMedia)-- World War II veteran and POW Seymour "Sonny" Segan and Warren Dart, son of the late Tuskegee Airman Clarence Dart, will take part in a special presentation, "Raid on Ploesti," at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at the New York State Military Museum, 61 Lake Ave., in Saratoga Springs. Segan was a bombardier aboard a B-24 Liberator that was shot down during a mission to Ploesti, Romania, one of the most strategic targets in World War II. Ploesti was home to huge oil refineries that produced much of the fuel used by the German war machine. Clarence Dart flew a P-51 fighter plane that was assigned to protect Allied bombers during their flights to Ploesti. The Tuskegee Airmen never lost a bomber. The program, moderated by author and Saratogian reporter Paul Post, will include a showing of the DVD "Raid on Ploesti," followed by a question-and-answer session with Segan and Warren Dart.
