Athens resident John Pielli promoted to lieutenant colonel in the New York Army National Guard

LATHAM, N.Y. -- Iraq War veteran John E. Pielli, a resident of Athens, N.Y., has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the New York Army National Guard.

Pielli serves as the Officer in Charge of the Logistics Readiness Team for New York National Guard Civil Support Operations.
